The classification of natural and anthropogenically modified landscape complexes on the basis of common criteria is worked out on the example of landscapes of Ukraine. The proposed scheme of classification of landscapes is based on structural and genetic principles. A number of well-known works in the field of classification of landscapes is used in its creation. A complex analysis of the factors determining the natural properties of landscapes and their anthropogenic changes is the basis of this classification scheme. The proposed classification of landscapes is used to form the structure of the legend of a mid-scale landscape map of Ukraine. The research was carried out within the framework of the tasks of the research theme of the Institute of Geography of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine "Methodology of the mid-scale geoinformation mapping of landscapes of Ukraine" (state registration number 0111U000048).
